INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI basketball duo of Jonah Carrasco and Boston Stanton III have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Team, honoring the top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Carrasco completed his undergrad with a 3.64 grade point average and has maintained a 3.83 mark as he pursues his Master's in organizational leadership. On the court, Carrasco has appeared in 28 games this season, averaging 2.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 52 percent from the floor. He's tied for the team lead ranks among the Horizon League leaders in blocked shots (20) and tied IUPUI's single-game blocked shot record with seven last season. He was named to the 2022 NABC Honors Court and has been on IUPUI's Academic Advisor's List all five semesters of his academic career. He's also been named to the Horizon League's Academic Honor Roll each semester in which he's been eligible. 

Stanton III, a sophomore, has maintained a 3.70 grade point average while majoring in psychology. Stanton has appeared in 27 games this season, making eight starts overall. He's averaging 2.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 87.5 percent from the free throw line. He's been named to IUPUI's Academic Advisor's List all three semesters of his career and was named to the Horizon League's Academic Honor Roll in Fall 2022.

The duo are among just 10 Horizon League student-athletes to have been honored.
