CARMEL, Ind. - Senior
Justin Amburgy was tops among IUPUI's two attached entries at Butler's Stan Lyons Invitational on Friday (Oct. 20), run at the familiar Northview Church course in Carmel. Host Butler and Bradley were the only two schools to run full teams as 28 runners competed.
Amburgy covered the course, which was listed as 7.16k, in a time of 23:58.4, to place 16th overall. Just behind him was true freshman
Nolan King, who finished the race in a time of 23:59.0. The Jaguars also had a handful of freshman unattached entries as individuals competed while preserving a season of eligibility.
The Bulldogs cruised to the team win with 18 points while Bradley finished with 39 points. BU's Sean Robertson took the individual tape in a time of 22:38.9, just more than five seconds ahead of teammate Sean Byrnes.
The Jaguars will continue preparations for the 2023 Horizon League Championships, to be run at Fairborn Community Park, just outside Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, Oct. 28.
