INDIANAPOLIS - Two IUPUI freshmen earned runner-up finishes in their events on day two of the Tom Hathaway Distance Carnival at UIndy on Saturday (Jan. 28).
Modupe Awosanya was second in the 200m dash with a personal best time of 25.63 and
Reese McCuan was second in the triple jump with a best jump of 11.14m (36' 6.75'').
McCuan was IUPUI's lone entrant in the triple jump and collected her best mark on her fourth jump of the day.
In the high jump,
Jada-Marie Davis had a best jump of 1.50m (4' 11'') and
Olivia Martinez returned from injury to jump 1.40m (4' 7'').
IUPUI sprinters shined in the 200m event as Awosanya was second overall, capping an already fruitful weekend that saw her win the 60m dash and long jump on Friday.
Karis Davis won her heat of the 200m dash in a time of 26.13 and freshman
Lillian Sebastian ran a personal best time of 26.69.
Jada-Marie Davis clocked a personal best time of 27.84 and
Skyler Sichting won her heat in a personal record time of 27.88.
Madelynn Denny rounded out IUPUI's entrants with a time of 28.85.
IUPUI will compete again next Friday (Feb. 3) when they participate in the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville.
