INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI head golf coach Jamie Broce has announced the hiring of Nick Osterburg as an assistant coach to join the Jaguars' coaching staff. Osterburg, an Indianapolis-native, will serve as an assistant with both the IUPUI men's and women's golf programs.

"I'm excited to bring Nick into our program. He's a young man I've known for quite some time and he's just an impressive young man with a bright, bright coaching future. I think he has a good heart and truly wants to connect with the student-athletes. He puts a lot of time and energy into building relationships and that's only going to continue to help us be stronger and better as a staff," Broce said. "He came highly recommended and has learned under a couple of the best in the business in Mike Fleck and Doug Martin, so we're excited for him to come in and work with our student-athletes."

Osterburg spent the 2021-2022 season as a graduate assistant at Ball State under longtime head coach Mike Fleck. While there, BSU's Joey Raineri was voted Second Team All Mid-American Conference (MAC) and three members of the BSU squad collected Academic All-MAC honors.

Osterburg was a standout player, having played collegiately at the University of Cincinnati. He finished his career with a 74.29 scoring average in 78 career rounds, including a pair of top-10 finishes in the 2018-2019 season. He earned a fourth-place finish with a 5-under 139 (67-72) at the Jim Rivers Collegiate that season and was a two-time honoree on The American's All-Academic Team.

He attended nearby Perry Meridian High School where he garnered all-state accolades during his junior and senior seasons. In high school, Osterburg also claimed sectional medalist honors, all-county and all-conference honors four times while finishing second at the 2017 IHSAA State Boys Golf Tournament as a senior with a 4-under par (140) at Prairie View. He finished fourth at the IHSAA Championships as a junior at 2-under 142.

Osterburg earned his degree in Business Analytics from Cincinnati in 2021.
