OXFORD, Ohio – The IUPUI softball team fell to Miami (OH) on Wednesday night, 8-0, in six innings. The Jags recorded only two hits in the loss.
The RedHawks (14-10) got on the board first with one run in the bottom of the first inning. Allie Cummins homered over the right field wall to give Miami the 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Chloe Parks hit a sacrifice fly to extend the RedHawks lead to 2-0. Miami scored six runs on three hits in the bottom of the six inning to walk it off in run rule fashion, 8-0
Madison Bryant (3-12) took the loss on the mound giving up one run on two hits in two innings of work.
Jasmin Speth threw three innings, giving up one run on three hits.
Rachael Gregory and
Morgan Gilbert each recorded a hit for the Jaguars.
IUPUI will continue Horizon League play this weekend when they travel to Youngstown State. They take on the Penguins in a doubleheader on Saturday (April 2) with the first game starting 1:00 PM then play one game on Sunday (April 3) at 1:00 PM.
