Sadie Smith and freshman
Alex Scott each competed in the NCAA Zone C Championships earlier this week. The two divers each competed in two events and faced tough competition throughout the three-day event.
"Sadie and Alex both had an overall positive performance result(s) in a competitive field that featured two Olympians and multiple national team members and conference champions," said head diving coach
Eric Barnes. "The experience that they gained as young divers will be invaluable in their continued progression, as they move up the ranks. We have great momentum as we move into the second half of the spring semester.
On day one, Scott dove in the 3 mtr dive and finished in 30
th out of 34 divers with a score 271.05. Smith dove in the women's 1 mtr event on Monday and finished in 34
th place out of 57 divers with a score of 235.90.
Smith then competed in the women's 3 mtr dive on Tuesday and earned a total score of 209.10 which was good enough for a 43
rd place.
Scott wrapped the week up with the platform event on Wednesday and earned 19
th place with a total score of 286.00.
With the event, the Jags closed out the 2021-22 season and will look to continue their success as both Scott and Smith look to return next season.
