WILLIAMS, MCLIMORE LEAD JAGUARS TO 14TH CONSECUTIVE VICTORY

Jaguars roll past Milwaukee, 71-59, on Thursday night (Feb. 17)

MILWAUKEE - Macee Williams pumped in 27 points on 13-of-20 shooting and Rachel McLimore finished with 16 points and six assists as the IUPUI women's basketball team rolled to a 14th straight win, defeating Milwaukee on Thursday night (Feb. 17), 71-59. Megan Walstad paced Milwaukee (11-14, 10-8 HL) with 15 points.

However, the IUPUI (19-3, 16-3 HL) defense limited the Panthers to just 1-of-8 from three-point range while shooting 10-of-20 from three at the offensive end. Six different Jags hit at least one trey as Rachel Kent was 3-of-5 from deep and both McLimore and Destiny Perkins each had a pair of makes. Meanwhile, Williams continued her dominance on the interior, narrowly missing a double-double with 27 points and nine boards.

"I'm really proud of our team's focus tonight on the road. We defended well in the first half," head coach Austin Parkinson said. "Macee was tremendous inside and Rachel did a great job with six assists and no turnovers."

Milwaukee had no answer for Williams from the opening tip as the Jags roared out to a 9-0 lead, capped by a Madison Wise three. The Jags won the opening quarter 17-12 and continued to keep the hosts at bay in quarter two, maintaining a two possession lead before extending out to a 29-21 halftime lead.

After Milwaukee tallied the initial bucket of the third quarter, IUPUI responded with a 10-2 run to bury the Panthers as Williams and McLimore accounted for all 10 points. The lead swelled as large as 17 as the Jaguars led by double-digits for the final 18 minutes of the contest.

The Jaguars shot 50 percent for the game and outscored the Panthers by a 30-3 margin from deep. IUPUI also outrebounded the Panthers by a 29-25 margin and committed just nine turnovers while forcing 12 miscues.

Kent finished with nine points and five boards and Perkins scored six. Both Anna Mortag and Natalie Andersen scored five points each off the Jaguars' bench.

The 14th consecutive victory extended the nation's longest active winning streak and the Jaguars improved to 10-3 on the road this season.

IUPUI will continue the two-game road trip on Saturday (Feb. 19) when the Jaguars take on Green Bay at 2:00 p.m. Eastern on ESPN+.
