INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI swim and dive team continued the House of Champions Invitational on Friday with four first-place finishes. Day two of the invite was highlighted by Spencer Jyawook's meet record in the 100 fly and Emmaleigh Zietlow's IUPUI record in the 200 free. Logan Kelly won the 100 breast and the women's 800 free relay team also sealed the first-place finish.

"We had another stellar night," said head coach Damion Dennis. "We won four events, set a meet record, set team records and numerous top ten times then you add in diving who is doing fantastic, it was an all-around great team effort. Great energy and competitive spirit. Our program is on fire right now and I hope we can keep that energy going into competition tomorrow."

The Jags had 32 athletes qualify in the first half of the day for the finals session. After the prelims, Sadie Smith took second in the women's 1-meter dive with a score of 252.20. Alex Scott led the men's team on the boards, finishing fourth in the 3-meter dive with a score of 305.63.

During the finals session IUPUI sealed four first-place finishes. On the men's side, Jyawook brought home the gold in the 100 fly with a new meet record time 46.74. Logan Kelly also earned a close first-place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 53.41. Dane Charleston pushed towards the wall in the final seconds to seal a second-place finish in the 100 back with a time of 50.28.

"My 100 back was fair, not as fast as I'd hoped but even battling injury I still scored good points for the team which is most important," said sophomore Charleston. "As a whole, the Jags are eating this weekend. We're doing better than expected which is great to see and it puts us in a promising position for conference in February!"

Other top finishes for the men's squad include Luke Dibley with a fifth-place finish in the 400 IM (4:03.82) followed by Nick Dibley in sixth (4:04.39). The men's 200 medley relay team made up of Kevin Burke, Kelly, Jyawook and Wes Wickens finished second with a time of 1:28.48.

Puryear-Lynch also recorded a second-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 55.56.

"I thought we did a good job building on what we did yesterday," said assistant coach Ethan Curl. "Very consistent, high-level swims for where we are in the season with very little rest. We had a lot of best times which is a good indicator of where we're at and what we can do."

The women's team jumped up to fourth place after day two with 649 points. The men's team is holding steady in second behind UIndy with 881 points. The Jags will close out competition tomorrow.
