CLEVELAND, Ohio – The IUPUI volleyball team fell to Cleveland State on the road on Saturday night in four sets, 3-1. Sophomore
Briana Brown led the Jaguar attack with 12 kills.
In the opening set the Jags fell to the Vikings, 25-18. Cleveland State jumped out to a 18-8 lead before
Darragh Dixon recorded four service aces in a row to bring the Jags within four at 18-14. Attack errors proved costly as the Vikings would close out the first set win after errors by the Jags.
The Vikings kept the energy on their side jumping out to a 6-0 lead to start the second set and finished the set, 25-12. After falling behind two sets to one, the Jaguars stayed alive with a third set victory, 25-21.
Maddie Ohm sealed the third set win with a kill. Cleveland State closed out the match with a fourth set victory, 25-21.
Brown led the Jaguar attack with 12 kills hitting .149 followed by
Emily Alan with eight kills hitting .222. Dixon ended the match with five aces and a team high 21 assists.
Emma Ashcraft, Dixon and
Addie Evans each added 14 digs.
The Jaguars will next travel to Milwaukee on Tuesday, October 18 at 7:00 PM.
