MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The IUPUI volleyball team fell to Milwaukee in four sets on Tuesday night, 3-1.
Briana Brown led with 15 kills followed by
Allie Pogue with 14.
The Jags previously defeated the Panthers earlier this season on September 27 in four sets and Milwaukee was looking for revenge. IUPUI took the opening set, 25-22. In the second set, the score was even at 13 before the Panthers went on a 5-1 run to take the lead. A few points later, Milwaukee finished the set with three straight points, 25-18.
After tying it up at one set a piece, the third was back-and-forth for most of the set with the Jags taking the lead at 21-20 with a kill by
Morgan Ostrowski. The lead didn't hold long as Milwaukee took five of the last seven points to take set three 25-23. In the final set, IUPUI took a 19-14 lead, trying to push the match to five sets but the Panthers went on a 7-0 run to take the lead. IUPUI fell in the fourth set, 25-21.
Sophomore Brown led the Jaguar attack with 15 kills hitting .324 while
Allie Pogue totaled 14 kills hitting .226.
Maddie Ohm added nine kills while freshman Ostrowski hit .545 with seven kills.
Brooke Phillips recorded five service aces and
Addie Evans collected 15 digs.
Darragh Dixon earned 25 assists and five digs.
The Jags will finish out the four-game road trip on Saturday, October 22 when they face Purdue Fort Wayne at 6:00 PM.
