Sycamore Open Live Results
INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI women's track and field team will split duties between the Sycamore Open and RedHawk Invitational on Saturday (Apr. 23) with the sprints and field events heading to Terre Haute and the distance runners heading to Oxford, Ohio. Head coach
Antonio McDaniel's team is seemingly rounding into form at just the right time as IUPUI posted six new school records at last week's Gibson Invitational in Terre Haute.
Wolnik was most impressive, breaking three marks on her own by resetting the school records in the 100 hurdles (15.64), triple jump (11.05m / 36' 3'') and javelin (30.26m / 99' 3'').
Marie Terry set a new school record in the 400 hurdles (1:04.26) and freshman
Sabrina Robison upped her own school record in pole vault (3.75m / 12.35'').
Mikayla Miller also set a new school record in the shot put at 9.87m (32' 4.75'').
Mikayla Clampitt and
Amani Miles have also overtaken school records this season and helped team up for a new 4x100 record earlier this season.
Clampitt owns the program's quickest 100m time of 12.74 while Miles ran the team's best 200m time of 24.85 at the same early season meet.
The mid-distance and distance spots have been a combination of old and new as
Sabrina Elder ran a personal best 800m time of 2:15.41 at the Gibson Invitational and fifth-year senior
Katelyn Murphy clocked a personal best 1,500m time of 4:36.51 at that same meet. Rookie
Makenna Sunbury owns the team's top mark in both the 5,000m (17:52.60) and 10,000m (36:43.58) this season. She's been followed closely by fellow freshman
Ellie Cates on both occasions while Murphy also chimed in with a solid 5K time of 17:59.73 at Bellarmine. Another freshman,
Madison Fry, also owns a solid 5K time having run 18:10.96 last weekend.
This weekend will mark the final tune-up ahead of the Horizon League Outdoor Championships, to be held in Youngstown, Ohio, May 7-9.
A full recap and results of both meets will be posted to IUPUIJags.com following Saturday's action.
