INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI senior guard Marcus Burk has been named the #HLMBB Nike Player of the Week. Burk averaged 35.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game in the Jaguars' two-game sweep of UIC. It marks the third time in his two-year IUPUI career that he's earned the league's weekly award. 

The 6-foot-3 sharpshooter knocked down 69.2 percent (27-of-39) from the floor, 70 percent (7-of-10) from three and a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line. He had a season-high 36 points (15-20 FG, 4-5 3's, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Jaguars' 89-69 win over UIC on Friday (Feb. 12) and followed with 34 points (12-19 FG, 3-5 3's, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Jaguars' 88-81 win on Saturday (Feb. 13).

It marked his sixth and seventh games of 30 points or more in an IUPUI uniform (second and third this season). In doing so, he surpassed the 1,000 point mark in his IUPUI career on Saturday, doing so in just his 47th career game.

For the year, Burk has climbed to No. 2 in the Horizon League in scoring (22.3 ppg), third in three-point percentage (.425), fifth in free throw percentage (.850) and tied for seventh in field goal percentage (.500) in league play. In addition, he leads the league in steals at 2.00 per game and is the only player in the league to be shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range. 

Nationally, he ranks No. 6 in the country in scoring (22.0 ppg) and No. 28 in three-point percentage (.419). In addition, he's ranked No. 42 nationally at 2.0 steals per game. 

In addition to being named the #HLMBB Player of the Week, Burk has also been honored by CollegeSportsMadness as the High-Major National Player of the Week and by ESPN's Jeff Borzello as the National Player of the Week.
