DAYTON, Ohio – IUPUI women's tennis hits the road for its second match of the season as the Jags take on Dayton on Friday (Feb. 12). The match against the Flyers is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
IUPUI (0-1) began its season with a 1-6 loss at UIndy last Friday (Feb. 5).
Sarah Lounsbury earned IUPUI's lone point with a strong win at No. 4 singles. Lounsbury lost her first set 1-6 before bouncing back for a 6-3 win in set two and a 10-8 win in the deciding set.
The team of
Gabrielle Ochalik and
Krystal Grubb posted the closest doubles match, falling 6-3 in the No. 1 spot.
The Jags now turn their attention to a Dayton team that is 0-3 on the season with a 6-1 loss against UIC the last time the Flyers took the court. Erica Wojcikiewicz leads the Flyers with a2-1 overall record with singles wins at both the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
IUPUI is 6-13 all-time against Dayton but won the last meeting against the Flyers with a 7-0 win back in 2019. The Jags earned three three-set wins in the last match against Dayton.
