DETROIT, Mich. – The Jags earned their first Horizon League win of the season after defeating Detroit Mercy on the road on Thursday night, 87-52. Graduate student
Macee Williams led the team with 18 points, six rebounds and two steals. Sophomore
Anna Mortag followed with a career-high 15 points and two assists.

IUPUI, in their first played conference matchup after having to forfeit the first two games of the season due to Covid-19 implications, scored 19 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early lead. They continued the pressure in the second and third quarters both offensively and defensively, forcing 19 turnovers in just the second and third quarters.
"I thought our team did a nice job in the middle two quarters defending," said head coach
Austin Parkinson. "We were aggressive on our rotations forcing 30 turnovers overall."

Natalie Andersen and Alli Berg came off the bench and each scored eight points and had one rebound.
Morgan Allen added seven points with three rebounds and two assists. IUPUI shot 46.8 percent (29-for-62) from the floor and 47.8 percent (11-for-23) behind the arc. The lady Jags defense held the Titans to 11.1 percent (1-for-9) beyond the arc.
IUPUI will travel to Rochester, Michigan to take on another Horizon League conference foe Oakland on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2:00 PM ET. Game coverage with be on ESPN+.
