JAGUARS OUTDUELED BY PANTHERS ON THE ROAD, 3-0

IUPUI falls on the road to #HLVB leader Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - The IUPUI volleyball team fell victim to #HLVB leader Milwaukee on Friday night (Oct. 22) on the road by a 3-0 score (25-10, 25-9, 25-16), as part of its current three-game road trip. Host Milwaukee controlled from the opening serve to remain undefeated in Horizon League play.

IUPUI (3-20, 1-11 HL) offered little resistant against the league's top offense as Milwaukee (17-6, 11-0 HL) hit .464 for the match, committing just six errors on the evening.

The Panthers breezed to a 6-1 lead in the opening set and never looked back, coasting to a 25-10 win. The hosts authored eight service aces in the first set, including four from Sarah Schrader to lead the team in scoring in the set.

The second set was much of the same as Milwaukee scored five straight points to extend a 9-7 lead to a definitive 14-7 lead. The Panthers hit .455 in the set and the Jags yielded 12 points on their own hitting errors.

The third set stayed closer throughout, but the Jags had little answer for the Milwaukee attack. The Panthers hit .680 for the set and the combo of Carmen Heilemann and Ari Miller combined to put down 12 of their 14 swings.

Freshman Atlantis Clendenin led IUPUI with five kills and Briana Brown, Maddie Haines and Sidney Veatch had four each. Clendenin and Brown each hit .143 for the evening.

Brooke Phillips had 15 assists and Rhiannon Schuenemann and Addie Evans had four digs apiece. Evans also had two of IUPUI's three aces from the service line.

Heilemann and Madi Malone led Milwaukee with 10 kills each and Jess Grabowski collected 10 digs.

The Jaguars will cap the three-game trip at Green Bay on Sunday (Oct. 24) on ESPN+.
