ROSEMONT, Ill – IUPUI finished its weekend at the Rambler Rumble with a 7-1 loss against host Loyola Chicago on Sunday (Feb. 9).

Rachael Gregory continued her hot start to the season, going 2-for-4 on the day and driving in the Jaguars' only run. Mandy Dallas, Hailey Pop and Jaida Speth also tallied hits for IUPUI (2-3).

The Jags got the scoring started in the top of the third taking advantage of a Loyola (3-2) error. Speth reached base on an error by the Ramblers' second baseman and moved to second on a ground out. During Gregory's at bat, Speth stole third and Gregory's single to left center brought home the run.

The lead was short-lived however, as Loyola opened up the offense against starter Dezirae Leonard (0-2). Three-straight singles started the inning and on the next ground ball, Dallas' throw home pulled Sabrina Trevino off the plate allowing the run to score. The big hit came in the next at bat as a single to center brought home two and as Trevino tried to get the runner heading to second, a third run came across.

The Ramblers added three more in the bottom of the fifth to push the lead to six. IUPUI only managed to get two runners in scoring position the rest of the way as the Jags lost their second-straight game.
