PEORIA, Ill – IUPUI women's tennis heads away from Indianapolis for the first time this season to take on Bradley and Murray State over the weekend. The Jags will take on the Braves on Friday (Jan. 24) before playing the Racers on Saturday (Jan. 25).
IUPUI (0-3) will be looking for its first win of the season when taking on Bradley on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET. The Jags will then play Murray State, also at Bradley, on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to close out the weekend.
ABOUT IUPUI
The Jags lost their first three matches, all at home, to open up the 2020 season but did manage to grab a point from Valparaiso before earning two points in the match against Western Kentucky.
Krystal Grubb has won her last two singles matches, winning 7-6 (3), 6-3 in her match against Valparaiso and took home a win by default against Western Kentucky after leading the match with a 6-3 set one win.
Freshman Marta Krakowski is the only other Jag to have won a singles match with a 6-2, 1-6, 10-8 win in the No. 5 match against the Hilltoppers.
In doubles play, the team of Krystal Grubb and Gabrielle Ochalik earned a win against Valpo, while the duo of Christina Stankovic and Diya Matta earned a victory over Western Kentucky.
ABOUT BRADLEY
Bradley's first match of the season will be against IUPUI. In tournament play in the fall, the Braves had four players post records over .500. Both Bozana Lojpur and Nikki Perlwitz each finished with eight wins during fall tournament play.
ABOUT MURRAY STATE
IUPUI will also be Murray State's first contest of the spring season. The Racers also had a good fall tournament season with six of the eight players on the roster finishing above .500. Sara Loncarevic had the best fall for Murray State, compiling an 8-3 record.
