SOFTBALL SWEPT BY GREEN BAY AFTER 7-0 LOSS

IUPUI dropped its third-straight game after being shutout by the Phoenix on Wednesday (April 10).

DENMARK, Wis. – IUPUI's bats were as cold as the temperature outside as the Jags managed just four hits in a 7-0 loss to Green Bay on Wednesday (April 10). The loss capped a sweep by Green Bay over IUPUI and the Jags fell to 6-4 in league play.

IUPUI's four hits came from two players as both Haley Ginger and Morgan Schuetter each finished 2-for-3 on the afternoon. The Jags' best scoring opportunity came in the top of the third when McKenzie Loge drew a two-out walk. After advancing to second on a wild pitch, Loge moved to third after Ginger collected her second hit of the day to right field. Delaney Thompson was unable to come through as she flew out to right field to end the inning.

The Jaguars only got one more runner to second base the rest of the game, as Jaida Speth moved to second on a single by Schuetter after Speth drew a walk. With two outs, Amber Pagan grounded out to end the inning.

Sabrina Trevino delivered two loud outs hitting balls that were caught against the fence in both the fourth and the sixth inning.

Green Bay opened the scoring against starter Lexi Lucas in the bottom of the third after back-to-back singles began the inning. After a pop up a three-run home run put the Phoenix up 3-0. Later in the inning, a double to the fence in left center brought home another run for Green Bay.

In the sixth, Green Bay tacked on three more, this time against Dezirae Leonard. Leonard got the first out of the inning but a walk and a single were followed by a double that scored one run. A second run came home on the relay throw after it got away from Delainey Turner. After a pop out, a single through the right side scored the seventh run of the game for Green Bay.

IUPUI has a quick turnaround as the Jaguars will head home to play a three-game series against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Friday (April 12) and Saturday (April 13).
