INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI volleyball senior was
Haley Hoffman was named Horizon League Honorable Mention and
Allie Pogue was named to the All-Freshman Team, the league announced Thursday (Nov. 21).
Hoffman, who was also named to the All-Academic Team, earned his second yearly award of her career after being named to the All-Conference Team as a sophomore.

For the season, Hoffman led the team in hitting percentage and was second in the league with a .310 hitting clip. During conference play, Hoffman upped her hitting percentage to .345, which was also second in the league. On defense, Hoffman was one of the top blockers in the league, tallying 1.24 blocks per set in league play, which was second-best. Hoffman twice finished with 10 blocks, the second-most in a match in league play.
Hoffman's season and career numbers have littered the
IUPUI record book. She finished the season with 31 solo blocks, the most in a single season in
IUPUI history. Hoffman's 116 total blocks on the season tie her own mark from last year that is sixth all-time in school, history. Hoffman now owns three of the top six seasons for total blocks. Her 1.20 blocks per set mark this season is the second-highest mark in school history and the highest mark since 2012.
In her career, Hoffman is now third in school history in solo blocks (67), fourth in block assists (297) and third in total blocks (364). Her 1.11 career blocks per set number is the highest in school history.
Pogue finished the season with the third most kills on the team, tallying 197 and posted 1.82 kills per set. The freshman started the season posting games of nine kills and 11 kills, including a combined nine blocks against Murray State and Lipscomb. Her 13 kills against Western Michigan were at the time a career-high.
"Allie's love for the game, competitive drive and physical ability added a lot to our program this year," said Froehlich. "We look forward to seeing her continue to develop."
Pogue's first double-double of the season came against UIC with 12 kills and 14 digs and she posted another double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs in the second meeting with the Flames. A three-match streak of double-digit kills ended with a career-high 19 against Youngstown State.
On the defensive end, Pogue finished the year with 101 digs and 45 blocks.
