ROCHESTER, Mich. –
IUPUI went up against the Horizon League defending champions in Oakland and came up empty handed against the Golden Grizzlies on Friday night (Jan. 18).

IUPUI's women suffered their first dual meet loss in their last ten meets falling 178-122 and the men fell in their meet 194-106. The Jags did manage seven wins in the meet and senior Ben Levart showed his dominance in the distance races with wins in the 500 and 1000 freestyle races. The Jaguars also earned multiple second-place finishes.

Levart's first win of the night was the Jags first win of the evening in the 1000 free as Levart finished over seven second ahead of second place with a time of 9:31.89. Levart's second win of the night came in the 500 free by more than four seconds, touching the wall in 4:34.69.

IUPUI swept the 500 free with Meagan Ronci winning the women's race in a time of 5:06.87. Ronci also won the women's 200 freestyle in a time of 1:54.47, just out-touching teammate Maggie Hatfield, whose time of 1:54.55 was good for second place.

The IUPUI women's 200 free relay took first with the team of Hatfield, Andrea Hanas, Mallory Buha and Tori Kroon clocking a 1:36.81 and Rylee Dahlman torched her competition on the 1-meter winning by almost 30 points with a score of 266.55.

IUPUI showed they had depth in multiple events despite not picking up the win. In the men's 200 free, Jackson Sandala and John Ragsdell finished second and third and the duo of Riley Lohse and Josh Barajas accomplished the feat in the 100 backstroke.

One of the deepest events for the Jags was the 200 butterfly. Maureen Lingle, Rachel Metzger and Anna McCahill finished second, third and fourth, respectively in the women's event. On the men's side, IUPUI also went two-three-four with Tommy Lombardo, Mark Auger and Dillon Stangeland finishing in those spots.

The Jags again took the second through fourth positions in the women's 100 free led by Hatfield and followed by Kroon and Hanas. On the men's side, Sandala and Barajas finished second and third.

Once again, IUPUI showed its depth in the 100 butterfly as four Jags finished in the top five. Adam Wait came in second, followed by Stangeland, Cameron Green and Auger. The women had Buha finish second and Allison Walker take third.

On the boards, Carolyn Dietz was the best Jaguar finisher in the 3-meter with a second place finish of 246.82 points, Dahlman took third with 238.58.

The Jags will compete in their next event at the Butler Invitational on Sunday, January 27 beginning at Noon.
