MACOMB, Ill. - The IUPUI men's soccer team will face former league foe Western Illinois (1-4-2) on Tuesday night (Sept. 18) at 4:00 p.m. Central (5 Eastern) at WIU's John MacKenzie Alumni Field. IUPUI had yielded just four goals in the season's first five games before yielding a four-spot to the Flames on Saturday.
The Jaguars have been stiff defensively throughout the season, registering a pair of shutouts and a 1.21 goals against average in six games. Freshman
Quinn McCallion has played all 593 minutes and recorded 35 saves and a .814 save percentage. In front of him, sophomore

IUPUI is looking to break a streak of 37 straight road contests without a win, dating back to the 2014 season. The Jaguars last true road win was a 3-1 victory at Houston Baptist on Sept. 13, 2014 when IUPUI scored three unanswered second half goals to stun HBU.

JAGS MAKING AN IMPACT: Last spring, the IUPUI men's soccer team signed Fishers-native Tyler Harris to a letter of intent to join the program through a partnership with Team IMPACT. Harris, an 11-year old battling cystic fibrosis, was on the sidelines for his first game when the Jaguars hosted Bradley earlier this season. Harris has already had a profound impact on the Jaguars' program as members of the team have also visiting the sixth-grader at home and have plans to support him at upcoming cross country meets and other events.
QUOTABLE: "I was disappointed in our execution. We came in with a game plan, but we didn't execute on that game plan. UIC has a really good team and they do a good job, but my disappointment stems from our inability or unwillingness to execute our game plan and give us an opportunity to be in the match," Barnett said.
SCOUTING WIU: Western Illinois is 1-4-2 on the season with the lone win coming over Dayton, 1-0 on Sept. 8. Paul Kirdorf scored both of his team-high two goals in WIU's 3-2 loss to Bowling Green while Daniel Kadima had the game-winner against Dayton. Tim Trilk has started all seven games in goal and has a 1.61 goals against average and .676 save percentage to accompany two shutouts.
INSIDE THE SERIES: IUPUI is 10-10-2 all-time against Western Illinois in a series that dates back to 1998. IUPUI hasn't beaten the Leathernecks until 2012 when the Jags defeated WIU in Indianapolis, 3-0. IUPUI hasn't won in Macomb since 2000.
NEXT UP: IUPUI will travel to Green Bay for a Saturday night (Sept. 22) contest at 7:00 p.m. Central (8 Eastern).
