INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI cheerleading squad announced additions to the 2018-19 roster as head coach
Shari Shires-Blane recently completed next year's roster. The team crew of newcomers has an average grade point average of 3.86.
The 2018-19 group of seniors includes
Megan George,
Ashley Hamer,
Bailey Hamer,
Sami Jones,
Cassidy Mansfield and
Jeremiah Miskimen. Another returner is junior Haley Barnett, who's been on the Dean's List every semester of her high school career.
"We have a great group of student-athletes coming in who understand the importance of academics," Shires-Blane said. "They're eager to be part of the Jags' cheerleading program. I'm really excited about this group."
The group of newcomers includes Purdue-transfer Hannah Shaw, who was part of the Boilermakers nationally ranked team last year. In addition, other tidbits about the newcomers are Caryannah Stephens, who is one of the top archers and Karina Pimentel, who's been a track standout during her high school career. Karsyn Elledge, the granddaughter of Dale Earnhardt, comes in with incredible racing credentials while running on the Legacy Car Racing Circuit. In 2015, she began as host of the Nickelodeon NASCAR TV series Hammer Down.
Other newcomers include Jayla Henderson, whose stunt group won nationals last year.
