INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department has announced the hiring of
Ashley Moeller as head cheerleading coach, effective immediately. Moeller, who served as an assistant coach with the Jaguars the past two seasons, also brings head coaching experience from nearby Cascade High School. Moeller was part of an IUPUI coaching staff that saw the Jaguars earn an eighth-place finish at UCA Nationals in Orlando last January.Â
Moeller is a Purdue graduate and competed on the gymnastics team for three years. She later served in the Army National Guard, finishing with an E4 Specialist rank. She currently teaches Spanish at Cascade and coaches both cheerleading and track and field.Â
"I am very excited for this new opportunity. I hope to continue the expectation of excellence as well as give the cheerleaders positive experiences during their time here." Moeller said. "I can't wait to take a team to Nationals again!'
She'll be joined on staff this season by former Purdue cheerleader Charlcie Holden and longtime assistant,
Samantha Campbell. The 2023-24 squad members will be announced later this fall after a September 17 tryout.Â
