INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis Athletics Department has announced the hiring of Diana Ferretti as head coach of the cheerleading program, taking over for Ashley Moeller. Ferretti joined the Jaguars program last season as an assistant coach and will elevate to head coach heading into the 2024-25 season. Moeller will remain with the program in an assistant role.

"We're excited to have Diana leading our Jaguars cheerleading program," said Lauren Gronke, IU Indy Assistant A.D. for Marketing, Promotions & Fan Engagement. "She brings a lot of enthusiasm and experience to the position that will ultimately benefit our program.

"They're a vital part of the gameday experience and we're excited to see Diana put her stamp on the program."

Last season, Ferretti was instrumental in the program's success as the Jaguars competed at UCA Nationals in Orlando.

Ferretti brings several years of experience as a UCA Staff Instructor, specializing in cheerleading techniques, choreography and team development across the Northeast to Indianapolis. She was previously an assistant coach and choreographer with Long Island University during the 2022-23 season, helping LIU to a national championship in the Open Spirit Program Game Day Division. That group was highlighted by exceptional skill in both routine execution and creative choreography.

Ferretti competed as a collegiate cheerleader, helping teams to second and third-place finishes in national competitions during her participation.
