ROCHESTER, Mich. – IUPUI women's tennis team lost its first two matches of Horizon League play, falling at Detroit Mercy on Saturday (March 24) and losing to Oakland on Sunday (March 25).
 
In what was their first match in over three weeks, the Jags (3-11, 0-2 Horizon) fell to Detroit Mercy 5-2. #Samantha Mayer# picked up the lone IUPUI win, taking home her No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-3. It was Mayer's third win of the season at the No. 3 spot.
 
Detroit Mercy took the doubles points winning the No. 1 and No. 2 matches and earned the match victory winning the first three singles matches at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 spots. #Molly Nguyen# played the closest singles match at No. 4, losing 6-4, 6-3.

On Sunday, the Jags fell to 0-2 in Horizon League play with a tough 7-0 defeat to Oakland.
 
The teams of #Krystal Grubb# and Mayer, as well as #Mariella Pessina# and Nguyen each lost their doubles matches by a score of 6-3 as Oakland took the doubles point.
 
The Golden Grizzlies swept the singles matches with Pessina and Mayer playing the tightest matches. Pessina fell in her No. 2 match 6-2, 6-3 and Mayer lost at No. 3 6-3, 6-2.
