CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – IUPUI women's tennis picked up individual wins by Valeriia Lavrenchuk and Molly Nguyen but the Jags fell as a team for the sixth-straight match, losing 5-2 to Eastern Illinois.
 
The dynamic duo of Lavrenchuk and Krystal Grubb were handed just their third loss as a team this year in doubles, losing 6-4. It was the closest doubles match for the Jags and Eastern Illinois took the point.
 
In singles play, Lavrenchuk moved her record to 5-6 on the season, winning her No. 1 singles match 6-1, 7-5. Nguyen broke a five-match losing streak with a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (4-0) win at No. 5.
 
Samantha Mayer was the only other Jaguar to force three sets, ultimately falling 6-2, 7-6 (8-0), 1-0 (3-0).
 
With IUPUI's match on Sunday against Bradley canceled, the Jags will have an extended break, not playing again until traveling to Detroit Mercy for their Horizon League opener on March, 24.
