JAGS FALL TO BOWLING GREEN AND LIPSCOMB ON SATURDAY

Mandy Dallas hit her second home run of the season against Bowling Green.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – IUPUI took an early lead against Bowling Green before falling to the Falcons and lost in their second game of the day to Lipscomb, 9-0 in five innings on Saturday. The loss puts IUPUI at 4-13 on the season.

GAME 1: BOWLING GREEN 7, IUPUI 3
Scoring seven unanswered runs, Bowling Green beat the Jags 7-3 to start IUPUI's trip in Nashville. IUPUI took a 3-0 lead after the top of the fourth but things unraveled in the bottom of the fourth and fifth as Bowling Green hit four home runs to take control of the game.

Mandy Dallas got this started off on the right track for the Jags, with a mammoth home run to left center field in the top of the first. Dallas would do more damage in the top of the fourth, after Maddie Keeley drew a walk. Dallas ripped a line drive to the left field wall to bring home Keeley on a double and make the score 2-0.

After a groundout by Megan Overton moved Dallas to third, Kristin London flared a ball in to left field to bring home Dallas and put the Jags up 3-0 after four-and-a-half.

That all changed in the bottom of the inning when Bowling Green tied up the game after being given new life. A two-out line drive by Kaylee Parker went off the glove of Keeley in left field and scored a run. The very next batter took advantage of the error and Kellie Natham homered on a line drive to left field to even the score.

The Falcons took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a lead off solo home run to left. BGSU would chase Overton later in the inning hitting two more home runs and taking a 7-3 lead.

IUPUI put two runners on in the top of the seventh with two outs but Haley Ginger popped out to center field to end the Jaguars threat.

Dallas finished the day 2-for-2 at the plate with a walk, drove in two runs and scored two runs. London and Delilah Wright had the only other IUPUI hits, both going 1-for-3.
Overton picked up the loss (3-5), going four innings giving up four earned runs and finishing with three strikeouts.

GAME 2: LIPSCOMB 9, IUPUI 0 (5 innings)
Lipscomb's offense got on track early in the second inning. A lead-off double was followed by a single and the runner advanced to second in the next at bat. Khayla Green doubled down the left field line to score two and put the Bisons up 2-0. Lipscomb wasn't done as Green beat the throw home on Graysen Gladden's fielder's choice.

Lipscomb would add another run in the bottom of the third and in the fourth, Abby Fenichel delivered a blow with a three-run home run just over the glove of Wright in left-center field. The Bisons pushed the lead to 9-0 after a two-run double later in the fourth.

IUPUI's offense was shut down by Lipscomb starter Megan Gray as the Jags managed just two hits and had only one runner in scoring position. Delilah Wright and Maddie Keeley were the only Jags to finish with a hit.

Dezirae Leonard picked up the loss for the Jags to mover her record to 1-7 on the season.

The Jags will finish their weekend facing off against Bowling Green and Lipscomb tomorrow at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
