NASHVILLE, Tenn. – IUPUI could not pull out a win over Tennessee State on Sunday and lost its fifth-straight match, falling to the Tigers 4-2.
 
IUPUI (3-8) suffered its third-straight defeat in the state of Tennessee after falling to Austin Peay 6-1 on Saturday (Feb. 24).
 
Both Valeriia Lavrenchuk and Krystal Grubb had strong days against Tennessee State (10-1) as combined, the two earned IUPUI's only doubles win, taking the No. 1 match 6-4.
 
In singles play, Lavrenchuk won the No. 1 match 6-1, 6-4. Grubb followed suit, taking her No. 2 match 6-2, 6-3.
 
The Jags struggled further down the card with Mariella Pessina losing 2-6, 1-6 at No. 3 and Samantha Mayer falling 1-6, 1-6 at No. 4. Molly Nguyen took her first set. 7-5, but then lost the next two, 3-6, 3-6.
 
IUPUI will continue to stay on the hunt for its first road win as the Jags will play at Eastern Illinois on Friday, March 2 at 11:30 a.m.
