WOMEN'S TENNIS HEADS TO TENNESSEE FOR THREE MATCHES

The Jags will spend the weekend in Nashville taking on three teams.

NASHVILLE – IUPUI's women's tennis team continues a season-long stretch of six-straight road matches with three matches in Tennessee over the weekend.

IUPUI (3-5) will start the weekend on Friday (Feb. 23) with a match at Belmont. The Jags will then finish the weekend with meetings with Austin Peay (Feb.24) and Tennessee State (Feb. 25).

The Jags are on a two-match losing streak and lost 5-0 in their last match at Dayton. The bright spot against the Flyers was the team of Valeriia Lavrenchuk and Krystal Grubb continuing their dominance in doubles play. The duo moved to 7-1 on the season as a team with a 6-2 win in their match.

IUPUI has not has as much success in singles play with the only record at .500 or above being a 4-4 mark at the No. 5 singles, led by Marina Schneiger who is 2-2.

SCOUTING BELMONT
Belmont is 2-7 on the season but did beat Dayton 4-3 in its last match. The No. 5 singles spot has been the best spot for the Bruins with a 5-3 record. Terra Sheldon leads the way having gone 4-3 at that spot. Doubles have been a struggle for Belmont as the Bruins best mark is a 3-4 record at No. 1.

SCOUTING AUSTIN PEAY
Austin Peay is 1-4 on the year with a 3-4 loss to Dayton the last time the Governors took the court. They will take on Louisville on Friday (Feb. 23) before playing the Jags on Saturday (Feb. 24). Lidia Yanes Garcia is a perfect 4-0 at No. 1 singles and Austin Peay holds an overall 4-1 record at the No. 3 spot.

In doubles the Governors are 4-1 at the No. 1 spot led by a 3-0 record from Lidia Yanes Garcia and Fabienne Schmidt.

SCOUTING TENNESSEE STATE
Tennessee State boasts an 8-1 record on the season but is 6-0 against Mississippi Valley State this year. IUPUI will be just the fifth different team the Tigers have faced this season.

The Tigers are a perfect 10-0 at the No. 3 singles spot with Ashia Jones 6-0 in that spot. Pragati Natraj is a perfect 8-0 this season playing. Tennessee State also sits at 9-1 in No. 2 doubles matches this season.
