INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's basketball team begins its 2018-19 regular season against Purdue Northwest on Tuesday (Nov. 6) at 7 p.m. in the Jungle. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Scott Agness on the play-by-play call.
The game is being sponsored by Geico and IU Health and the Jags will be thanking all of those who participated in Jags Giving Week earlier this year.
IUPUI begins the season ranked No. 20 in the first Mid Major Poll by CollegeInsider.com.
The Jags are led by sophomore
Macee Williams, who was named Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year. Williams put together a 20-point, 10-rebound effort in just 18 minutes of play in the Jaguars exhibition win over IU Kokomo.
In the win over IU Kokomo,
Holly Hoopingarner finished second on the team with 14 points followed by 12 by
Morgan Allen and 10 from
Katelyn O'Reilly.
Allex Brown led the IUPUI with 11 rebounds. The Jags defense finished the game with 19 steals. Led by five from freshman
Taylor Ramey.
SCOUTING PURDUE NORTHWEST
Purdue Northwest will be playing its second game of the season after an exhibition against Calvin College on Saturday (Oct. 27).
This will be the eighth meeting all-time between the two programs with the last meeting taking place in 1990. The Jags own a 5-2 record all-time in the meeting but this will be the first meeting since Purdue Northwest's inception, having been known as Purdue-Calumet in the previous games.
