INDIANAPOLIS – Riding the momentum of their recent surge, the women's tennis team (3-8) returns to the hardcourt this weekend, as the Jags' will play host to Cincinnati (5-2, 1-0) Friday (Feb. 26) at 7 p.m. followed by Ball State (6-2) Saturday (Feb. 27) at 3:30 p.m., both taking place at the West Indy Racquet Club.

The Jaguars are currently enjoying a three-meet win streak, defeating Bowling Green (4-3), Valparaiso (5-2) and Evansville (5-2) along the way.  Their most recent victory over the Purple Aces featured four singles victories and a clean sweep in doubles.  They dropped just the number one and five spots in singles, both of which came when the meet had already been decided.  A key factor in the victory, junior Rachel Swartwood was named Summit League Player of the Week after picking up both singles (6-3, 6-2) and doubles (6-4) victories at the No. 2 spot in the Jaguars lineup.

Cincinnati is coming off a tough 3-4 road loss to Toledo Friday (Feb. 19), snapping a three-meet win streak that started Feb. 5 against Miami (Ohio).  During that stretch, the team also overtook Temple (4-3) and Villanova (7-0).  The Bearcats will stay in Indianapolis following the match for a Saturday meet against the Bulldogs of Butler.

Ball State is also on a winning-streak, as the Cardinals have looked dominant during the course of their past four meets.  They've defeated Western Kentucky (5-2), Chicago State (7-0), Evansville (6-1) and Youngstown State (5-2), setting up their date with the Jaguars.  The Cardinals will host Cincinnati March 4, before heading south to Orlando, Fla., for a three-meet stretch.
