ELMHURST, Ill. – IUPUI sophomore guard Danielle Lawrence was named Summit League Player of the Week on Monday (Jan. 11) for her efforts in the Jags' road win at Western Illinois on Saturday (Jan. 9). The recognition is Lawrence's first Summit League weekly honor.

The award comes on the heels of Lawrence's fifth double-figure outing in the last six games. Her 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting (54.5 percent) led IUPUI. Lawrence netted 13 of those 18 points in the first half as she started the game 4-for-4 from the floor (3-for-3 from three-point range). She also grabbed six rebounds and tossed two assists in the victory.

Lawrence has pushed her scoring average to 12.0 points per game on the season; good for second-best on the team. She has led the Jags in scoring seven times (team-high) in 16 games and has registered nine double-digit performances, including two 20-point showings. Her season total field goal percentage rests just below 50 percent (.490).

Lawrence is the third women's basketball player to win the weekly honor this season. Junior center Mikale Rogers and senior forward Akilah Sims both garnered the award earlier in the season during non-conference play.
