ELMHURST, Ill. - The IUPUI softball duo of
Brooke Boetjer and
Ali Mosier earned Summit League Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday (Mar. 9). Mosier collected her third Summit League Player of the Week Award while Boetjer received Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time in her career.
Offensively, Mosier powered the IUPUI attack, going 8-for-16 at the dish, including five extra-base hits. She drilled a go-ahead homerun in the sixth inning of the 2-1 win over Bryant University and became the program's Division I leader-era leader in runs batted in with three knocked in during the week. She finished the week with a .938 slugging percentage and .556 on-base percentage. For the year, Mosier is tied for the league-high in homeruns (6) and leads The Summit in stolen bases (12). She ranks fourth in the league in batting average at .429 and RBI (16).
In the circle, Boetjer was dominant, going 3-1 to improve to 10-4 on the season. She tossed two complete game victories, including shutting out former Summit League foe Southern Utah. She finished the week with a 1.13 earned run average and 13 strikeouts in 18.2 innings of work. For the year, Boetjer leads The Summit in wins (10) and shutouts (4) and is second in innings (76.2) and strikeouts (61).
The Jaguars will return to action on Mar. 14 when they take on Big Ten foe Northwestern in a doubleheader in Rosemont, Ill..
