INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's tennis team kicked off its 2015 campaign on Saturday afternoon, but the Jaguars fell just short in its debut dropping a 4-3 decision to Dayton.
 
The Jags got off to a great start in doubles play with Valeriia Lavrenchuk and Samantha Mayer teaming up for a win at No. 1 doubles, and Bobbi Modesto and Rachael Bridegroom earning the victory at No. 3 doubles to secure the doubles point for the Jaguars.
 
In singles action, IUPUI picked up wins from Modesto and Rachel Swartwood at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, both of which coming in straight sets, but that wouldn't be enough as the Flyers took the remaining four singles match to complete the come-from-behind victory.
 
IUPUI will have two weeks off before returning to action on Jan. 31, at Bradley.
