ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI sophomore forward
Tori Minnich has been named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 21. The Fort Wayne, Ind.-native scored all four of the Jaguars' goals during the week and earned the league's weekly award for the first time in her career.
Minnich opened the week with a second half goal in the Jaguars' 3-1 loss at Murray State on Friday (Sept. 19), but followed up with the best effort of her career on Sunday (Sept. 21). With her Jaguars trailing 3-0 shortly after halftime, Minnich scored three goals in a 12-minute stretch to help IUPUI claim a 3-3 draw with Indiana State. For Minnich, it was her first career hat trick and the sixth in school history.
She became the second IUPUI player and fourth player in The Summit League to notch a hat trick this season.
For the year, Minnich leads the Jaguars in goals (5) and points (10) heading into Summit League play. She is presently third in the league in goals and tied for fourth in total points.
