INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Jaguars (3-16, 1-2) and Mastodons (12-8, 2-1) both came into Sunday's match 1-1 in conference, but IPFW came out 2-1 after defeating IUPUI 6-1.
 
Bobbi Modesto earned the Jaguars' lone point in a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles over IPFW's Miloslava Shustova. The win was Modesto's fifth in singles this spring, tied for the team lead with Julie Brockman.
 
Brockman also had a chance to win, forcing a third-set super tiebreak with a bagel in the second set, but came up on the short end losing 10-4.
 
Interim head coach Yulia Smirnova went back to her usual lineup at the top with Vanessa Whyte at No. 1 after experimenting with Rachael Bridegroom at No. 1 in Saturday's match. The switch didn't seem to have much of an impact as both lost in straight sets in each match.
 
After posting back-to-back wins for the first time this season, the Jaguars have now lost back-to-back matches. They'll have a break from conference though as they take on their home-town rival Butler Saturday (Apr. 12) at 1 p.m. ET
