FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The IUPUI men's golf team sits in eighth place of 14 teams competing in this weekend's Doc Gimmler, being played at the par-70 Bethpage Red Course in New York. IUPUI shot back-to-back 286's (572) on day one and is seven shots back of seventh-place Columbia.
Yale leads the way at 546 and Harvard is second at 554. Round two is slated to begin at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 15).
Ruiz went 1-over 141 (69-72) on day one and was the lone Jaguar to break par during a round. The junior is tied for 19th among the 76-player field.

Austin Winings both came in at 2-over 142 with both shooting 72 in the first round and even par 70's in the evening round.

Tyler Davis made his season debut with a 147 (73-74) and senior
Rob van de Vin rounded out the Jaguars' lineup at 152 (74-78).
Yale's Joe Willis leads the field at 9-under 131 (63-68), holding a three-shot cushion on Columbia's Brandon Jowers.
