ROCHESTER, Mich. – Following a pair of losses to open Summit League play on Thursday, the IUPUI women’s tennis team bounced back with a 4-0 win over Western Illinois on Day 2 of its opening Summit League cluster.
 
The win upped IUPUI’s overall record to 5-14, while moving to 1-2 in the Summit League.
 
The Jags got off to a great start with Shelby Hullett and Rachael Bridegroom and Vanessa Whyte and Bobbi Modesto winning by identical 8-1 scores in the first two doubles matches. With the doubles point already secured, Jesika Bays and Jaclyn Hyman teamed up for an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles to complete the doubles sweep.
 
In singles, the Jags quickly ended the match as Hullett, Whyte and Modesto each claimed 6-0, 6-0 victories at the No. 1, 2 and 3 singles, respectively, to finish off the 4-0 win.
 
The Jaguars conclude their opening Summit League cluster on Saturday, March 30, when they take on Oakland at 9 a.m.
