KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The IUPUI women's tennis team looked to close out its busy three-match, three-day stretch with a win following a pair of losses to start the weekend, but the Jags were not able to emerge victorious falling to Bradley, 6-1, Sunday afternoon.
 
The loss dipped IUPUI's record to 1-9 on the campaign.
 
In doubles action, Bradley took the early advantage with an 8-1 win at the No. 3 doubles spot, but IUPUI's No. 2 duo of Vanessa Whyte and Rachael Bridegroom evened things with an 8-4 win.
 
In the decisive doubles match, Bobbi Modesto and Shelby Hullett were locked in a tight contest against Adele Henke and Corey Mattson. Modesto and Hullett had an opportunity to send the match to a tiebreaker, but the Braves' duo eked out an 8-6 win to give Bradley the doubles point.
 
In singles action, all six matches were determined in straight sets, but only one match went the Jaguars way.
 
That match came at the No. 3 spot with Modesto winning 6-1, 6-2, over Sarah Rodefeld. The win gave Modesto her sixth singles win in her last seven matches.
 
The Jags are back in action on Friday, Feb. 22, when they host Valparaiso at the West Indy Racquet Club at 7 p.m.
