OMAHA, Neb. - Seemingly peaking at the right time, the IUPUI men's soccer team will take on Omaha for the first time in school history on Saturday (Sept. 29) in Summit League action at UNO Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Eastern on Saturday.

IUPUI (4-6-2, 1-0 Summit) is unbeaten in its past three outings, including wins over Valparaiso and Eastern Illinois and a 1-1 draw at Western Michigan earlier this week. Senior Kyle Hyland poured in three goals in the two wins last week before he set up freshman Michael Sass' goal at WMU on Tuesday. Hyland ranks among the top five nationally with eight goals this year while Sass is second on the squad with seven points (2 goals, 3 assists). Sass, a 6-foot-7 defensive back, is the lone Jaguar to have played every minute of every match this season.

Classmate Eduardo Cortes has been brilliant in goal for the Jags, amassing a 1.40 goals against average and a nation's best 69 saves in 11 games. The Texas-native has already been named Summit League Defensive Player of the Week three times in his rookie campaign.

Omaha (2-4-1, 0-0-1) showed some mettle in its first-ever Summit League contest, playing last year's league champion Western Illinois to a 1-1 tie on the road. Felipe da Silva scored his first goal of the year in the 16th minute to give the Mavericks an early lead, but WIU knotted the match less than seven minutes later before the last nearly 90 minutes were playing without a score. For the year, Vance Rookwood leads the Mavs with eight points (3 goals, 2 assists) while Giovanni Giattino ranks among The Summit League leaders with four assists. UNO has had eight different players account for the team's 12 goals scored. Matt Grosey has played every minute in net, registering a 1.66 goals against average and 30 total saves.

IUPUI head coach Isang Jacob is more than familiar with UNO's front man, Jason Mims. Both were on staff at Penn State until they each earned their first Division I head coaching jobs prior to the 2011 season.

Jacob's squad is seeking its first road win of the 2012 season on Saturday, having gone 0-3-2 in true road contests and 0-2 at neutral sites.
