Similar to the first match, the Jaguars swept all three doubles matches, but the match pitting both team’s top doubles tandems proved to be an exciting finish.
Following an 8-0 win and an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles and No. 2 doubles, respectively, the top doubles match found its way to a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, IUPUI trailed 4-3, but the Jags finished by winning the next four points, including a pair of overhead smashes by Cummings, to cap off the 8-7 (4) victory.
In singles action,
Shelby Hullett and Bays sprinted out to early leads and never looked back as each claimed wins at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots, to put the Jaguars in front, 3-0.
Following a loss at the No. 2 position, Haefele rebounded from a first-set loss to win the second set and claim the third set by winning the third-set tiebreaker to clinch the victory for IUPUI.
Neff and Whyte proceeded to finish things off with straight-set victories finishing off the 6-1 win.
