LAS VEGAS – The IUPUI women’s tennis team opens up Summit League play on Thursday, March 15, when it travels to Las Vegas, Nev., to compete in its first Summit League Cluster of the season at Bally’s Resort.
While in Las Vegas, the Jags will take on four conference opponents in three days beginning with Southern Utah on Thursday at Noon ET, before taking on UMKC and South Dakota on Friday, March 16, at Noon ET and 5 p.m. ET, respectively. IUPUI closes out the opening cluster on Saturday, March 17, against IPFW.
The Jaguars enter the weekend with a 3-11 record and last season, three of the Jags four conference losses came against UMKC, Southern Utah, and IPFW.
Vanessa Whyte looks to help lead the Jaguars after posting a perfect record in Summit League matches a season ago en route to picking up all-conference accolades.
Last year’s Summit League Champion, IPFW, was picked to finish first in the Summit League Preseason Poll, while Southern Utah and UMKC were selected to finish second and third, respectively. South Dakota and IUPUI finished in a tie for fifth in the preseason poll.
