INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI freshman defender Michael Sass has been named the College Sports Madness Summit League Player of the Week for his three-point effort at Oral Roberts on Saturday (Oct. 13).

The 6-foot-7 Sass netted the game-winner in the tenth minute, scoring his third goal of the season with a well placed header inside the near post off a Clint Hoffar long throw-in. Moments later, he flicked a long throw to the back side of the field, setting up senior Emile Garcia for an insurance goal in the Jaguars' 2-0 win at Oral Roberts.

The win snapped IUPUI's three-game winless streak and pulled the Jaguars back to .500 in Summit League play.

Defensively, Sass helped the Jaguars to their fourth shutout of the season, limiting ORU to just six shots on goal in the win. IUPUI took over the No. 4 spot in the standings with just three matches left to play.
