SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The IUPUI women’s tennis team opened its second and final Summit League cluster of the season Thursday afternoon against conference leading IPFW, but the Jaguars were unable to take down the Mastodons falling 4-0.
The loss dropped the Jags to 3-19 overall and 1-4 in conference play, while IPFW improved to 22-3 overall and 6-0 in league action.
IUPUI fell behind early dropping its No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches by identical 8-2 margins placing IPFW in front, 1-0.
The Mastodons carried the momentum gained from doubles action into singles play. Unfortunately for IUPUI, IPFW used straight-set wins at the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 positions to clinch the victory.
The Jags are back in action on Friday, April 15, against Oral Roberts. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
