TULSA, Okla. - The IUPUI women's soccer team surrendered a restart goal in the 67th minute and was blanked for the third straight game as the Jaguars dropped a 1-0 decision at Oral Roberts on Thursday (Oct. 13) night. The loss extended the Jaguars' winless skid to 11 straight and kept IUPUI winless in Summit League play.

"It was more of the same," said IUPUI Head Coach Chris Johnson, who was unable to coach on Wednesday after being issued a red card last Sunday. "We came out good and created some scoring chances and just didn't finish. In the second half, I think we just came out uninspired. We did not play well in the second half.

"With this team, there's an element of waiting on something bad to happen. This was the fifth or sixth coach in a row that's come up to us after the game and said, 'I don't know how you're not winning games.' It's nice and all, but it doesn't change the fact that we're not winning."

ORU (5-8-1, 2-2 Summit) took the lead midway through the second half when Maria Grados drilled a free kick from the top of the 18 over a four person wall and into the upper left corner of the net, past a leaping Giselle Guzman. The goal was her seventh of the season.

The Golden Eagles just missed scoring twice earlier in the second half as Shelbi Lousch hit the crossbar on an attempt from the right side in the 48th minute after being left unmarked out wide. In the 61st minute, Mary-Kate Halsmer hit the crossbar with a header attempt from 12 yards out, directly in front of the net.

IUPUI (1-10-4, 0-4-1 Summit) came out on the offensive with Alicia Brock leading the way, but was unable to get anything past ORU goalie Helen Erb. Senior Chelsi McHenry tested Erb in the game's first minute and later Brock started powering the IUPUI offense from the right side. However, she misfired on a pair of attempts and had a third blocked from just inside the 18 in the early going.

Senior defender Margaret Allgeier did take a rightful place in the IUPUI record books on Thursday night, overtaking Hall of Famer Karrie Reising for the program's all-time lead in career starts with her 74th. The Fort Wayne-native has missed just one game in her IUPUI career and only come off the bench once in four seasons. Thursday marked her 48th consecutive start.

"Margaret's always been a very steady, calm person in the back," Johnson said. "She doesn't freak out about stuff and always plays smart. Coming out of high school, I think some people questioned whether or not she was athletic enough to play Division I soccer, but that's never been an issue. She's a very smart player and knows when she needs to create some more space to give her time to clear a ball out."

Erb finished with three stops including collecting a Kristin Pierce deflected attempt in the game's final minute. Guzman made just one save as ORU put just two attempts on target. Pierce and Brock led IUPUI with three shots each.

The Jaguars will conclude the two-game Summit League road trip at Southern Utah on Saturday (Oct. 15) with a 4:00 p.m. Eastern kickoff.
