MULDROW TALLIES LATE AS JAGS FALL AT LOUISVILLE, 5-1

Junior Keilah Muldrow nets her fifth career goal in the defeat

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The IU Indianapolis (0-2) women's soccer team fell to host Louisville (1-1) by a final score of 5-1 on Sunday (Aug. 16) at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. After a torrential thunderstorm rolled through, the Jaguars' defense then weathered 30 Louisville shots, registering 13 saves. The game was originally delayed by two hours due to inclement weather, ultimately not kicking off until nearly 9 p.m.

QUOTABLE
"The nerves were definitely high. Louisville's an amazing team, but just getting that first stop in, draining all the nerves, it just really brought the entire team up and making sure everybody could keep pushing forward," sophomore goalkeeper Isabel Oferosky said after an eight-save performance, which included a nervy stop in her first minutes of a scoreless second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The match commenced with Louisville quickly establishing a 1-0 lead as Liza Suydam notched a goal in the opening minute. Despite facing pressure, the Jags' defense, led by goalkeeper Sofia Rodriguez, managed multiple saves, notably stopping shots by Liz Eddy and Liza Suydam. Sophomore Anika Guenther created a notable moment for the Jags at the 22nd minute when her shot struck the top woodwork, but the visitors were unable to capitalize further.

Louisville extended its lead with goals from Karina Peat, Ella Bard, Amelia Swinarski, and Abigail Cox, closing the first period at 5-0. The Jags showed resilience with a late attempt by Addison Stover, which also hit the woodwork, but the team entered halftime trailing. The Jaguars were limited to just the two shot attempts, both of which were denied by the crossbar.

Keilah Muldrow scored on the back post of a corner kick for IU Indy at the 61st minute, with assists from Bethany Hartigan and Annaliese Black. The goal was Muldrow's fifth of her career. Despite Louisville's frequent attempts on goal, Oferosky provided solid goalkeeping, saving multiple shots to prevent further scoring, anchoring a defense that continually shuffled bodies for a second straight game.
