INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's soccer team looks to extend its winning streak to three when it hosts Western Michigan in non-conference action at Kuntz Stadium on Wednesday (Oct. 12) night at 7:00 p.m.. Those unable to attend can watch the match live online on IUPUIJags.com as part of the IUPUI LIVE! subscription service as Greg Rakestraw calls the action.

IUPUI (3-7-2) is riding back-to-back shutouts and hasn't allowed a goal since the 45th minute of its 1-0 loss at Bowling Green on Sept. 30. Last week, the Jaguars returned from an eight-game road hiatus to post wins over Butler (3-0) and Summit League foe UMKC (1-0) to up the season shutout total to four.

Offensively, sophomore Ian Block scored twice in the win over Butler and senior defender Galen Cassady netted the game-winner late in regulation against UMKC. Block and Perez Agaba are tied for the team lead with two goals each and Yogi Snider leads the squad with three assists. Junior Kyle Hyland leads the club in shot attempts at 16, while senior Matt Guy has fired 14. Guy had two assists in the win over Butler and is tied for second on the team with four points.

The Jaguars defense has been dominating of late, yielding just two goals in the last five games. Cassady and Hyland have been mainstays along the back line and Joshio Sandoval has fortified the group since moving from the midfield. Senior goalkeeper Tyler Keever recently earned his second Summit League Defensive Player of the Week award and lowered his goals against average to 1.15. The Indianapolis-native has 51 saves and a .785 save percentage through 12 matches.

WMU (4-7-1) comes in unbeaten in its last two outings including a 2-1 win over Michigan last week. Shane Lyons leads the Broncos with six goals scored and Kai Mendes has five assists in 12 games. Lyons has two of the team's four game-winners this season while Jason Grant and Kyle Farris have one each. However, WMU has struggled to keep opponents out of the net as the combination of Matt Murrell and Sean Lewis has posted a 1.69 goals against average. Murrell has played the bulk of the team's minutes, registering a 1.46 GAA and 36 saves in 10 starts.

IUPUI is 2-4 all-time against Western Michigan, but won the last two meetings in the series. The two schools first met in 1988.
