INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's tennis team closed out its four-match homestand to start the season on Saturday evening falling to Bowling Green, 7-0, at Five Seasons Sports Club.

Outside of Vanessa Whyte and Danielle Haefele dropping a close 8-7 doubles match in a tiebreaker, the Falcons swept the other two doubles matches by scores of 8-0 to capture the doubles point.

In singles action, Shelby Hullett came up short in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Unfortunately for IUPUI, Hullett's first-set result resulted in the most games won in a set by an IUPUI player in the match.

In the rest of the singles play, Whyte lost her No. 1 singles match to Christina Chiricosta (6-0, 6-2), Haefele dropped her No. 3 match by scores of 6-2, 6-0, and Lee Matthews, Jesika Bays, and Bailey Maryfield each were unable to win more than a game in straight set losses.

The Jags will hit the road for the first time this season when they travel to Milwaukee, Wis., Feb 5-6, to take on Marquette and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
