INDIANAPOLIS - Janel Seng and
Alisha Cummings combined to form the highlight of the IUPUI women's tennis team's evening on Friday, scoring an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles. Unfortunately, the victory was the lone win for the Jaguars, who fell to Cincinnati, 7-0, at the Indianapolis Tennis Center.
IUPUI (0-7) has won at least one match in six of their seven contest so far this spring, and picked up their first win when Seng and Cumming won by a break. Still Cincinnati (3-5) cruised through No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to claim the match's first point.
Jesika Bays nearly won a singles point for IUPUI, rallying to force a super tie-break after a 6-2 second-set victory. However, the Zionsville, Ind.-native fell by a break in the final set, 10-8.
The Jaguars will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 26, when they travel to Morehead, Ky., for matches against Morehead State. The matches will begin at 3 p.m. ET.
