INDIANAPOLIS -- Competing with just five available players, the IUPUI women's tennis team fell to Butler, 7-0, at the Indianapolis Tennis Center on Friday night.
IUPUI (0-6) had an early opportunity to go up a point, as
Vanessa Carna and
Emily Holsapple teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-7. The duo won the match in a tiebreak, 7-4. However, when
Sondra Caputo and
Karlee Rush fell at No. 2, 1-8, Butler took the point as the Jaguars lost the No. 3 match by default.
In singles play, Butler swept the five matches, all in straight sets.
The Jaguars will have a quick turnaround, taking on Akron on Saturday. The matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m..
